OpenPort delivers reliable, cost-effective global voice and data communications for marine users needing multiple voice lines and "always-on" internet access via an Ethernet port. The internet access speed depends on your rate plan. OpenPort offers 9.6 kbps, 32 kbps, 64 kbps, and 128 kbps (best case) data rates. The system does not require professional installation and includes a pole-mounting bracket for the 22.44” diameter antenna unit. There are voice ports with RJ-11 connectors that can be used with conventional phone equipment. The OpenPort also includes a Captains desk phone and a Crew desk phone. Each voice line can be configured for normal pay-as-you-go monthly billing, Captains "pin-protected" mode or Crew "prepaid" mode. To facilitate inbound calling, each voice line can be assigned a US phone number.
The Iridium OpenPort Standard Kit includes a Captains desk phone, Crew Calling desk phone, Antenna Unit, 20-meter antenna cable, Inside Unit, AC/DC Power supply and cord, Antenna Pole Bracket Mount, Inside Unit Mounting Kit, and Manual.

The RST100 Remote Satellite Terminal by BEAM provides voice, data, and messaging services through
the Iridium network. A standard RJ-11 phone (shown for scale but not included) can be used with the RST100
system. Data at 2400 bps is supported using an RS-232 serial port. An LED display indicates the status of power,
satellite signal strength, ongoing call status, and whether voicemail is waiting.
The BEAM RST100 includes an AC power supply. A similar DC-powered unit, the BEAM RST110 Sea Captain, is
available for marine applications.
Options include: External Ringer/Alarm, Intelligent Handset, 20-meter cable set.
Outfitter Satellite sells the RST100 and RST110 as combo kits including a mast antenna and antenna cable.
